Hofstra hosts "Green" essay writing contest

Law school students throughout the country are invited to submit articles on "green" legal topics to a writing contest sponsored by Hofstra University School of Law, in association with a law firm and a business consultancy, both in Uniondale, Long Island.

Suggested topics for papers include nuclear relicensing, green building, public nuisance, climate change litigation and ethanol policy.

Papers and questions may be submitted via e-mail to Jeffrey A. Dodge, assistant dean for administration and operations at Hofstra Law: lawjad@hofstra.edu.

The author of the winning paper will be honored with a $500 cash prize and the opportunity to speak at the March 19-20 "Energy and the Environment: Empowering Consumers" conference on the Hempstead campus of Hofstra Law. Two honorable mention winners will receive cash prizes of $250 each.

The writing contest as well as the March conference are co-sponsored by Congdon, Flaherty, O'Callaghan, Reid, Donlon, Travis & Fishlinger and Wright Risk Management.
