Hofstra Law School has been named an official partner in the American Bar Association-Environmental Protection Agency Law Office Climate Challenge Program.

To qualify, Assistant Dean for Administration and Operations Jeffrey A. Dodge instituted new practices for paper management by exclusively using paper with at least 30% post-consumer recycled content and switching the default settings on copiers and printers to double-sided.

Under the leadership of Mr. Dodge and Creative Director Tobie-Lynn Accardi, Hofstra Law School has also been printing all official publications, including the sixty-page annual alumni magazine, the J.D. Prospective Student Guide, fellowship brochures and event invitations, on recycled paper.

Dodge and Accardi's efforts were recognized by New York Law Journal.

Hofstra University School of Law has been named a partner in the American Bar Association-Environmental Protection Agency Law Office Climate Challenge Program. Hofstra becomes only the fourth law school in the nation to qualify for this "green" certification. Pace Law School is the only other such qualifying institution in New York. The program is designed to encourage law offices, government offices, citizens groups, courts, law schools and other law-related entities to take specific steps to conserve energy and resources. The ABA's Law Practice Management Section co-sponsors the initiative. To qualify, partners must use paper with at least 30 percent post-consumer recycled content and switch the default settings on copiers and printers to double-sided, among other things.
