Professor Hillary Burgess published a short article, "Analyzing Analysis: Solving "Empty" Analysis" in the Legal Writing Institute's The Second Draft newsletter, Volume 24, No. 1 Fall 2009. The issue was dedicated to teaching implicit reasoning and improve the depth of their analysis. Professor Burgess' article described exercises that moved students through Bloom's Taxonomy of cognitive learning objectives with increasingly more advanced exercises that teach how to write and think using implicit reasoning.
