Professor Rose Cuison Villazor will be presenting a draft of her paper, “Racially Inadmissible Spouses,” at the Penn State Dickinson School of Law’s faculty workshop on February 25, 2010. Her paper argues that the federal immigration law's racial exclusion of Japanese during World War II functioned like an antimiscegenation law outside of the U.S. borders. Specifically, the paper contends that immigration law regulated interracial marriages by restricting the ability of interracial couples to marry and enjoy the rights and privileges of marriage.
