Professor Bennett Capers Discusses Life Without Parole
Professor Capers was among the panelists at the recent roundtable discussion, “Life Without Parole: America’s New Death Penalty,” at Amherst College. Other panelists included Rachel Barkow (NYU), Josh Bowers (U. Va.), Sharon Dolovich (UCLA), Marie Gottschalk (U. Penn.), Jessica Henry (Montclair State), Paul Robinson (U. Penn.), and Jonathan Simon (U.C. Berkeley). The resulting essays, including Professor Capers’s essay “Defending Life,” will appear in the forthcoming book “Life Without Parole: America’s New Death Penalty” (NYU Press) co-edited by the organizers of the panel, Charles Ogletree (Harvard) and Austin Sarat (Amherst).
