Fred Klein was recently appointed to a special task force formed by the Nassau County Bar Association to deal with problems at the embattled Nassau County police crime lab.

Professor Klein will join an assembly of leading defense attorneys and representatives of other legal organizations to examine the lab policies and procedures on behalf of the bar association. The task force also will recommend a set of necessary steps geared toward re-establishing the credibility of the crime lab going forward.
