On October 26, 2011, the Hofstra University Center for Civic Engagement and the Office of the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs will present Day of Dialogue IX: Power, Resistance, and Democracy. The day will consist of panels, workshops and performances devoted to discussion and debate of the issues currently facing our community, nation and world.

The Day of Dialogue will feature members of the Hofstra Law faculty. Julian Ku will participate in a panel entitled Endless Wars 2: Global Security and U.S. Policy, Post 9/11 at 1:55 p.m. in the Leo A. Guthart Cultural Center Theater, Axinn Library, First Floor, South Campus.

Additionally, Norman Silber and Yishai Boyarin organized the law school faculty workshop, Immigration and the Legal System with Professor Michael Pinard, to take place at 4:30 p.m. at the law school. Sponsored by the Hofstra Immigration Law Society, the workshop will examine Supreme Court requirements for legal representation of criminal defendants whose cases present immigration issues.
