The Matrimonial Strategist has devoted its September 2012 issue – under the banner “Special Issue: Same-sex Marriage, Federal and State” – to articles by Professor Frank Gulino on pending litigations in federal and state courts involving marriage equality. Included in the issue is an article that analyzes a First Circuit decision holding that the Defense of Marriage Act’s definition of marriage is unconstitutional, as well as the Ninth Circuit’s decision that upheld a district court ruling that California’s Proposition 8 violates the Fourteenth Amendment. The September issue of the Strategist also includes an article on a New York state appellate court’s decision that dismissed a legal challenge to New York’s Marriage Equality Act.
