Professor Susan Fortney Presented in Sydney, Australia on the Need For Cultural Competence as a Matter of Professional Responsibility in a Globalized World
On August 13, 2012, Professor Susan Fortney, the Howard Lichtenstein Distinguished Professor of Legal Ethics, spoke at an Ethics Forum organized by the Law Society for New South Wales, in Sydney, Australia. The Law Society has numerous statutory responsibilities, including representing the interests of over 23,000 solicitors and serving as a co-regulator for solicitors in the state. Professor Fortney’s presentation focused on the effects of globalization on the legal profession and the importance of lawyers developing cultural competence as a matter of professional responsibility.
