Professor Barbara Stark Moderates Roundtable at American Society of International Law Annual Meeting
April 7th, 2010Professor Barbara Stark organized and moderated a Roundtable on economic, social, and cultural rights at the American Society of International Law Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, March 25th. The other participants were: Philip Alson, NYU; Alicia Yamin, Harvard; Andrew Clapham, Institute of Advanced Studies, Geneva; and Mona Rishmawi, Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. Professor Stark also helped organize a panel at the Annual Meeting on International Law From the Bottom Up, held on March 26th.
Professor Amy R. Stein Co-Chairs 22nd Annual Moot Court Competition
April 5th, 2010Professor Amy R. Stein co-chaired the 22nd Annual Moot Court Competition, held at Plainview-Old Bethpage/John F. Kennedy High School. This year’s tournament was attended by more than a dozen high schools from Nassau, Suffolk and Queens; over 35 Judges, attorneys and court officials volunteered their time to judge each of the student trials.

Professor I. Bennett Capers Presents Paper at UCLA Law School
March 18th, 2010On March 13, 2010, Professor I. Bennett Capers presented his paper “The Unintentional Rapist” at UCLA Law School’s Critical Race Studies Symposium. His co-panelists included Professor James Forman of Georgetown Law and Professor Russell Robinson of UCLA Law. The topic of the panel was “Masculinities and the Law.”
